Clinical Neuropsychologist Registrar

Dr Grace Tan is a Clinical Neuropsychologist Registrar who completed her postgraduate studies at the University of Western Australia. As part of her training, Dr Tan has conducted numerous neuropsychological assessments of children and adults with known or suspected neurodevelopmental disorders (e.g., ADHD, learning disorders, intellectual disability), acquired brain injury, and/or psychiatric conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She has worked with individuals from culturally diverse backgrounds and those with a complex history (e.g., exposure to family violence, abuse/neglect, substance use challenges, justice system/child protection involvement).

Dr Tan has a special interest in Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), with her doctorate thesis exploring adverse childhood experiences, offending characteristics and risk factors of justice system involvement in individuals with FASD. She has also completed numerous forensic neuropsychological assessments with justice-involved individuals with FASD.

Dr Tan adopts a client-centred approach and works in a culturally sensitive manner. Her goal is to provide evidence-based and compassionate care to her clients. Additionally, Dr Tan is passionate about building the family’s capacity to respond to the child’s difficulties to promote better outcomes.

In addition to her clinical experience, Dr Tan holds a teaching position at the University of Western Australia, where she is the unit coordinator of the Graduate Certificate in Assessment and Diagnosis of FASD.
